Angelo "Snaps" Provolone, the toughest and most revered gangster ever to pick up a gat, is presented with a seemingly impossible task. On his father's death bed, Snaps is asked to promise that he will abandon his life of crime and "go straight." On any given day this would have been a tough request. However, on this particular day..................................it's even worse.

Reluctantly, he makes that promise in order for his father's last wish to come true.

As a result, Snaps converts his closest gang members into cooks, butlers, and household help, and seeks out a brand new career as a banker. This proves to be quite a challenge however, considering the somewhat rough reputation he has in the community. And on top of that who ever heard of a banker named Snaps?

It's now morning and the bankers are arriving to meet with Snaps at noon. The wait is stressful for the previous gangster who is feverishly trying to make a good impression. However, the situations which follow make things even worse than before.

First, the accountant steals his money and, on top of that, wants a raise. Then, his daughter announces she is pregnant-or is she? This leads to a search for a suitable husband and no man is safe.

His maid abandons him at his most dire time. Meanwhile, a desperate cop is keeping an eye on his every move. Not believing that Snaps has really recanted from his gangster lifestyle, he is determined to expose a "cover-up" and bust him for anything and everything possible.

His two gangster associates, in their efforts to learn their new legitimate jobs, only make more of a mess. A furious wife, a bashful elocution teacher, and two bickering Italian tailors round off the crazy characters in this day of nuttiness inside the Provolone household.

Going straight has never been so hard!!
