Angelo "Snaps" Provolone: the lead character and head of the Provolone family. A rather tough
Italian gangster, Snaps vows to abandon his life of crime to fulfill his
dying father's last request. His search for more legitimate employment,
however, proves both difficult and humorous.
Connie: Snaps' personal bodyguard. Although a bit on the slow side, Connie is no one you
would want to mess around with. He has weapons stashed in every pocket and is ready to strike at the slightest hint of wrong-doing. He's similar to an
Italian Bill Fagerbakke (the voice of Patrick on Spongebob, or Dobber on
the TV series Coach) and will do anything for the "boss."
Aldo: another gangster in Snaps' employ. Quick and sarcastic, Aldo can be as tough as Connie, though more diminutive in stature. He can always be found with a cigar in his mouth and is quick in answering the front door to greet visitors (although he doesn't really like the job....in fact, he doesn't like much of anything).
Lisa Provolone: Snaps' daughter. She considers herself thoroughly a "modern 30's
woman" and feels far too mature and sophisticated for her father's rules,
much to his dismay. She is a bit spoiled, and full of attitude. She also desperately wants to get out of the house (or as she calls it, her "guilded cage").
Anthony Rosano: Snaps' young accountant who has maintained the Provolone family books for quite some time. A shrewd
and clever businessman, he has high hopes and dreams for his future. Unfortunately, he may have decided to go about achieving these goals in the wrong way.
Theresa: Anthony's fiance. She is a sweet young girl, very
kind, and is always willing to do the right thing whenever possible. However, her actions end up causing quite a "stir" this time around.
Sofia Provolone: Snaps' wife. Also Italian, her demeanor is very diva-like in its own way. It is easy to
see where Lisa got her attitude from. It is also easy to see that, though
her husband is a criminal feared by many, she definitely wears the pants in the
family.
Dr. Thornton Poole: Snaps' elocution teacher. He is a very intelligent and
articulate man. Very educated, he has traveled across much of the world.
He is a bit of a nerd, however, and rather shy around women.
Nora: the maid. A sassy young working woman, she doesn't let the
questionable "status" of her employers intimidate her and is one of the few people who stands-up to Snaps and the other employ.
Luigi and Guido Finucci: two brothers who run a local tailoring shop and are very meticulous in their work. Snaps has been a customer of theirs for a while and receives very high quality in every suit he purchases. He shouldn't expect anything less, after all, "It's a Finucci." Both roles are funny, silly and over-the-top Italian characters.
Lieutenant Toomey: a police officer investigating Snaps. Refusing to believe
Snaps' claims that he has abandoned his life of crime, Toomey is watching
him like a hawk, waiting for any slip-up to prove that Snaps is up to no
good.
Roxanne: a very calm and kind cleaning woman. She is roughly 40 years old. Roxanne has worked hard and had a difficult life, but is a very
caring and nice woman despite any hardship. And, she has a wonderful secret.
Father Provolone: Snaps' ailing father who, on his death-bed, begs his son to quit the shameful gangster life. A fun smaller role that starts off the show with a "slap" (to Snaps' face that is).
Kirkwood and Overton: two bankers whose anticipated noon arrival is constantly echoed throughout the show. They are accepting Snaps' offer for new employment with their company. However, they may be after more than just a new face around the office.
Underwood's Chauffeur: a German chauffeur who reluctantly turns his car around and returns a suitcase to the Provolone family (which does more harm than good).
